In order to schedule your day to success you first should know what you want and need and then schedule you how you are going to accomplish your goals.
“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” —Pablo Picasso
If you are not completely sure what you want or how to get it, then I suggest you do the following:
- find a quiet place to sit down by yourself
- a bedroom
- a living room
- a staircase
- a bathtub
- your car
- the backyard
- use tools and begin to brainstorm your needs and wants
- use writing tools that are concrete if you prefer traditional paper and pen
- use your laptop
- use apps or notes on your phone
- brainstorm all ideas that come to your mind
- loose weight
- change my job
- create an online business
- improve my mental health
- connect more with people
- learn to bake
- spend more time with family
- have more time to myself
- finish that novel I started 3 years ago
- don’t worry if things aren’t in order
- ask yourself what you want in life, what you need and what is consuming your day
- write down what is needed to accomplish your goal
- more time
- more money
- more education
- more support
- more confidence
- what tasks are needed around the house that consume your time
- constant distractions
- what obligations do you have outside of the house
- recreational sports
- volunteer work
- taking care of an elderly parent
Next, identify the most important things you want or need to accomplish.
It will be extremely hard to concentrate on the most important task 100% of your time because of all the other daily activities that need to be done too.
How to work your way around your day
So you have a goal and you know it will take a while to get there. There is likely a lot of steps to take to get there too plus a lot of distractions in the meantime.
Take your goal and break it down into tasks. Each task that needs to be done must lead to your goal.
Next, schedule your goal-tasks into your day.
What you do today effects you tomorrow. So what should you do? You should set yourself up for tomorrow!!
Start with your goal. What you really want and need to accomplish and then write down all you need to do to get you there.
What does your current day look like? Can you fit in the goals you need to accomplish every day by just doing one or two tasks each day that will lead you to your goal?
If you aren’t sure when you can fit your goal items in, then draft up your day an see where and when you can do your tasks. Remember, you need to be realistic and you need to fit them in your everyday routine.
When you do this, arrange a few tasks into your daily schedule each day. Be realistic with your time arrangement.
Goal Example and How to fit it in your Daily Schedule (I put in 2 goals here):
- Goal: to Create an Online Bases
- Goal: to get Healthy
6:30-7:00 am -search domain names (online business goal related)
7:00-7:30 am -workout (health goal)
7:30-8:00 am -shower and get ready for work
8:00-8:30 am -eat a healthy breakfast & prepare a healthy lunch (health goal)
8:30-9:00 am -commute to work
9:00 am -5:00 pm – work (lunch breaks- eat healthily, try to
fit in online business ideas & get educated via online searches)
5:00-5:30 pm – commute to home
5:30-7:30 pm – dinner, house-cleaning, downtime, relax with family
7:30-9:30 pm – work on your online business
See? If you fit in your goal-tasks (a little a time) each day, you have already made progress to the ultimate goal. If you do these simple tasks each day, you will get very healthy because you have worked out and ate healthil. Plus you have made your steps to accomplish an online business that will helpfully bring much fortune to you.
At the end of each day, look at what you have accomplished. See what next has to be done. Did you achieve your goal for the day? Did some things take longer than others? Are you able to delegate some things to others to open your day up a little further for your goals? Many hands make light work, even if it is just for a short interim.
Schedule your day to success. It will lead you to your goals by tackling tasks after task until you have accomplished what you want and until you have succeeded!
Then schedule another goal. Rinse and repeat. YOU CAN DO THIS!
How do you schedule your day for success or do you struggle with this topic?
