“To join in the Industrial Revolution, you needed to open a Factory; in the Internet Revolution, you need to open a Laptop.” – Alexis Ohanian

Laptops are portable. You pick-up a laptop and move it from your bedroom to the living room. A laptop can be taken to the coffee shop, or on a business trip, and on vacation across the world.

Laptops connect to the internet. The internet provides an open door to the world. A world of information, a world of opportunity, a world of influential people, a world of entertainment, a world of business.

Factories, also known as Brick & Mortar Shops are unable to move around with you.

You are stuck working in a 9-5 job with a boss hanging over your head and working at regimented pace to make shareholders happy. But what about your happiness? Brick and Mortar companies work their employees hard and if you are unwilling to live up to their expectations then they will find someone else. You are a dime in a dozen, to them.

Don’t let their thoughts influence how you feel about yourself.  To break free from them, give the Internet a shot.

What does it mean to be Living a Laptop Life? It means that you can use your laptop as your business, as long as you have an internet connection.

You are your own boss and work on your own terms! This also makes you accountable.

The internet provides a life for you to live on your own terms. The clock belongs to you because you don’t have to report to a boss. You have the freedom to do what you want when you want, how you want, and to work on it anywhere you want.

Working on the internet is similar to Brick and Mortar because you still have to work hard. If anyone tells you that the Internet provides a Get Rich Quick opportunity, then they are just blowing smoke in your face.

Don’t ever believe you can get rich quick. It takes time and perseverance. Don’t think that if you put up a Website and leave it, it will bring in money for you. It doesn’t work that way. You have to learn to connect to the public.

Find your audience. You need to know who your audience is too and where they hang out. The internet is huge and there are many aspects to the internet that you need to know in order to be successful. It means you have to focus on your goals and accomplish tasks every day.

You have to rely on yourself to make this happen. If you don’t have the drive within you then maybe this option is not for you. If you are intrigued and need guidance then there is a wealth of information that is available at your fingertips, if you just ask. Communities of like-minded people that are on the same path as you want are also available to connect with.

Having an Online business that works around the clock for you is mind-blowing when you really think about it. You have the ability to reach out to millions of people across the globe that are interested in what you have to share with them.

Sounds pretty intriguing, doesn’t it?

So… how can you create an online business?

The answer is simple. Follow your passion.

  • What are you most interested in?
  • What hobbies do you like?
  • What can you offer to others?
  • What can you produce and sell?
  • Do you like writing?
  • Do you like producing videos?
  • Do you like reading out loud?
  • Figure out what products you love and would love to promote?

Find your passion and share it with others, on the Internet.

What is your passion? Would you consider Living a Laptop Life?
