“Plan your hours to be productive…Plan your weeks to be educational…Plan your years to be purposeful. Plan your life to be an experience of growth. Plan to change. Plan to grow.”-Iyanla Vanzant

How many times have you started a project or task and abandoned it?  How many times have you wished for something you really wanted but didn’t take action to get it?

Life goes by too quickly and it can be full of distractions. Your phone and computer are a huge distraction and can rob you of productive time.

However, if you use your time wisely on your phone or laptop you can learn to get inspired, get educated on things that really interest you, and get some help to get you back on track to accomplishing goals that really matter to you.

To plan your day to success, here are some steps to help guide you on your way:

  1. Find a goal or task to do
  2. List everything that you need to reach your goal, it doesn’t have to be in order
  3. Then go through your list and prioritize the items
    • make the list in a step-by-step order
    • put the item that needs to go first before anything else.
      • for example, if your goal is to create an online business with a laptop or desktop computer then the first thing you need is a laptop or a desktop computer. Getting a laptop or desktop is considered a mini-goal.
        • Even if you have what you already need, still put it on the list anyways. There is some sense of progress and satisfaction you feel when you begin to scratch stuff off your list and it keeps the whole concept of your goal together as a whole.
  4. Make a plan:
    • how are you going to achieve each mini-goal?
      • for example, your first item is getting a laptop or desktop. You plan on using your existing one until that Boxing Day sale when the one you have had your eye on finally is on Sale.
      • The most you expect to pay is $1,500 and that will be in 3 months, so you need to budget a savings of $500 a month until then
    • once each mini-goal is achieved then go to the next item on your list and plan on how you are going to achieve it too
    • include timing and a budget for each item
  5. Create tiny steps to accomplish milestones, keep it simple and don’t overwhelm yourself
  6. Focus on the next step, and once done, move to the next
  7. Each day refer to your list and try to accomplish a few items that day
    • stay focused and persevere…don’t give up even when you think you aren’t accomplishing anything
  8. Then study and learn what works and what doesn’t work
    • alter your plans if needed in order to continue on your journey towards your goal
  9. Get educated and trained on items that you need but are unfamiliar with
    • for example, I use SFM to get educated and training for online business
      • Just some information I would like to share with you regarding SFM, if you are interested:
        • They have world-class teaching that covers everything you ever needed to know.
        • Support is over the top. They have online help, you can contact them via skype/zoom, they hold in person during inspiring meetings that happen across the globe so you get to meet like-minded people, they have a private Facebook community with amazing people to connect with and why have your back.
        • To top it off, even though you join to learn how to create, manage an nurture an online business, you also have fallen into a journey of discovery of yourself. It is all around a rewarding opportunity. I am thriving, learning, and growing each day from this beautiful community.

  10. Finally, scratch off each item from your list, once it is complete.
    • Never give up…we are different, have different approaches to life…what works for others, may not work for you so don’t get discouraged.
    • Before you know it, you have reached your end GOAL!
    • Celebrate your accomplishments in your journey as you accomplished milestones and then again at the end of your journey.
    • Pat yourself on your back for a job well done.

The most important thing you can do to get the wheels in motion is to TAKE ACTION!

I often joked about my Dad as he always knew exactly what he would do each day from the time he woke up to the time he went to bed. If things didn’t go to plan, he always had a backup plan. He made it flexible enough to fit in hiccups but he always knew what he’d accomplish, and how.

It was only years later that I clicked-in with his mentality. You see, he was a financial controller… the person who managed the financial books for companies. The entire time that I grew up he planned and took action with finances and downtime. He is still going strong as he approaches his mid-70’s…this keeps him busy and inspired as the days go by.

I always thought it had to do with his controlling nature. So that is what I did, I grouped him into that “controlling” category without really stopping to think that maybe there is a little more to it.

Vacations with my family were never boring, thanks to my Dad. They were exciting, eventful, and memorable. I did appreciate them and experienced a lot from life that I don’t think I ever would have if my Dad didn’t “plan” our days. He was a kid at heart, still is. He lives in Niagara Falls, Ontario and loves to take us and his grandkids on jetboats through the falls. He and I went on roller coasters for years too, when I was growing up..while my little brother and Mom watched-on (it wasn’t their thing)..

My Dad’s yearbook even had his peers mention how my Dad planned his days — I guess it was embedded in him since childhood.

Planning days gets you to accomplish things but it also gets you to step forward towards the goal of success.

My Dad accomplished a lot of goals. He saw a lot of the world by traveling like a free soul from Country to Country. He has taught me a lot by planning, scheduling, to goal accomplishment.

Make the most of Your Day!

Stop any laziness and ‘can’t do’ attitude. We all relate to wanting to be lazy, but lazy people don’t accomplish much.

Get on your feet, Pump yourself up. Encourage your spirit to fulfill your mission in Life, Knock Self Doubt, Fear, Timidnes on its ass.

You can do anything you set your mind to!

Be an inspiration to others and show them that there is more to life than just breathing and working and sleeping.

There is goal ‘getting’ and with that comes pride and self-accomplishment.

Hope this inspires you to schedule your day to success! 🙂
